A monthly letter from Joanne. June 2026.
OPENING RITUAL
Come outside a moment, dear friend. Feel the warmth that June carries in the air.
This is the month of the long light. The evenings that don’t quite end. The year at its most generous with time.
And underneath all of that — underneath the warmth and the fullness and the particular quality of a summer morning — something June has always asked of those willing to listen:
Trust what you feel before you can explain it.
This month is about the inner compass. The knowing that arrives before the certainty. The quiet direction that the body registers before the mind can articulate it.
It is about learning to navigate by feel — and discovering, as Eli discovered on the fog-covered moor, that the path does not always appear ahead of us.
Sometimes it appears beneath us as we walk.
Settle in. The story is waiting.
THIS MOON’S TALE — A small story about the moment you stop explaining yourself to yourself and simply know.
“The Map She Stopped Consulting”
Fiona had kept a life plan since she was twenty‑two.
It began as a practical document — a neat grid of career steps, financial milestones, and carefully plotted decades. The kind of organised future her mother had called sensible and her best friend had called slightly alarming. Over the years she had updated it, revised it, reshaped it whenever life demanded a new contour. But it had always been there.
The map. Her map.
She was forty‑one when she first went a full month without consulting it.
